Why custom?

Ventura Van Builds

Have you ever made your way around someone else’s kitchen looking for a spoon and unable to find it? You think, "Maaybe they’re next to the sink since that’s where I’d keep my spoons"…Nope! The host tells you she keeps her knives in the corner drawer. The mugs are across the refrigerator and the plates are under the stove. Nothing makes sense at all but it makes complete sense to the person who decided to store everything that way.

That is one huge reason why a custom van is better than a templated one. Whoever designs these templated vans is thinking about the layout that would make them the biggest profit and would best suit the most generic lifestyle, not yours. What if you have a senior dog and want to have a designated doggie crate and feeding station? What if you’re a climber and want to use hand-holds for all of the cabinet doors instead of metal finishes? What if you’re left-handed and want everything to be left-hand accessible? All of the peculiarities of you and your lifestyle are lost on these templates.

Another reason why custom vans are better than templated or ready-built ones is that they’re made with more intention and care. Each of our vans are unique and distinctly different from each other, meaning there’s no mass manufacturing or sacrifice on quality for quantity. Every single product we make is unlike anything else on the market and is made with high quality materials. It’s created just for you and only you and it’s crafted by a real human practicing real trades.

Yet another drawback to non-custom layouts is that you inevitably have some part of the kit that you just don’t want or need but are still forced to pay for because it comes in a package deal. Instead of spending your money on something that you’re not 100% sold on, why not pick and choose exactly what you want?

Finally, custom vans are superior to mass-manufactured vans because everyone’s life situation is different. Some people can afford to splurge on a hydraulic system for their bed and others just want a simple box. Some people built out half of their van already and want to add more but don’t know how and can’t find a company willing to take on the liability of touching their partially built van. No matter your situation, we have the expertise to help you find a solution that will work for your lifestyle, not a one-size-fits-all copy of the same van over and over again.
